An economical hotel in a terrific location. If you're looking for a base to stay at when touring Vancouver, this is a great option. The beach at English Bay is five minutes away. Stanley Park is nearby. There are great restaurants along Denman Street, a grocery store is within a five minute walk. The beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly. I would definitely consider staying here again.
I've stayed here several times and it's always been great. It's quirky, quite vintage, but for the price it's the best in the area. Views over English Bay, always quiet despite being in the heart of everything there, very helpful staff and secure, gated parking with 24hr access. It is slightly dated, especially with the ovens supplied, however everything always worked and - again - for the price I would highly recommend.
The rooms are very dated, but also comfortable and homely. We stayed here a few years ago and liked it so came back. The location is excellent, particularly for the beech and Stanley Park. The area is very lively which makes it a bit noisy at night, but if you close the windows it is not bad. This is just a loveley hotel in a great location.
We will definitely be back !!! Great friendly staff, incredible location to walk anywhere we needed to go. Rooms are quiet considering the bumping food storefronts under neath. Older building but comfortable beds pillows and kitchenette.
I’ve been staying at this hotel yearly since I was a toddler and I am now 18. It’s tradition to see the Festival of Lights and this is the best place to go! The staff are very polite, most of the time, and the rooms are adequate to the affordable price that you pay. Compared to other hotels in the area this one is the BEST for your buck!
I had an incredible stay at the English Bay Hotel! From start to finish, the service and customer experience were exceptional. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and went out of their way to help. They assisted us with our luggage both on arrival and departure, stored our bags after checkout due to a late flight, and even helped us load our Uber — truly above and beyond. The room itself was impressively spacious, featuring a full kitchen, a large bathroom, and plenty of room to relax. A big bonus was the on-site laundry facilities, which included multiple washers and dryers — super convenient for a longer stay. The hotel is located in a fantastic area with tons of amazing restaurants, bars, and pubs nearby, making it easy to enjoy Vancouver’s vibrant nightlife. Considering how expensive accommodation in Vancouver can be, this hotel offers excellent value without compromising on comfort or location. I couldn’t recommend English Bay Hotel more — and I’ll definitely be staying here again!
The staff is friendly and informative, the place is clean. It’s a bit on the older side but it’s in a safe part of town, right by the beach, Stanley Park, all amenities at your doorstep and the room was huge!! We had a kitchenette which saved us loads of money, the beds are comfy and it is clean. All for a relatively affordable price. Staying at the Hostel up the road was the same price minus the privacy! Thank you English Bay Hotel!
